Did the math but?
Sorry to bring this up again, but my math dosen't match. Can someone that understands this please help. I've computed the long way and short way and get the same incorrect answer. I must be missing...

gumbyc, You didn't say what the date of your pay statemant is but we got a COLA increase effective Dec 1, 2006 and we got a new statement reflecting that increase (which I think is what you have)....

Thanks MSgtMack, your assumptions are correct. The date of the pay statement is 01-31 Dec 2006. It reflects the COLA but not the increase in the CRDP payable 1 Feb 07. The base pay did go up 3.3%,...
View ArticleRe: Did the math but?
I am doubtful that your patement shows the NEW CRDP rate, it is still showing the amount for last year (2006). You should get another one with the current update included on it. Mack

gunbyc, Mack is right. I am also CG and in the same catagory as you. The LES that we received the other day only reflected the COLA increase for what we have been receiving for the last year. We will...

JIM272 & MSgtMack I really do appreciate your comments, but your missing the question. You are both correct as I have stated in my posts that the numbers I gave do not include the 2007 increase in...

gumbyc First of all, cover up the VA comp on your pay statement. It is what it is and will remain so. On you pay statement, is there a line labled "VA Waiver"? If ther is, and there should be, take...

gumbyc, My RAS only indicates what my concurrent receipt credit is. I have to calculate my own base pay each year after I add my annual COLA increase. You said that your base pay is $1740, take that...
View ArticleRe: Did the math but?
Thank you very much. You are both right in your explanation. On the DFAS site which I was using to figure the CRDP, they start by using the the VA Waiver amount, then subtract the CRDP table % rate....

JIM272, I am not familiar with the way the CG does the calculations but does not the $1241 CRDP already implicitly contain the 3.3 COLA for 2007? The initial question indicated that the 1740 earned...

hutsky Since the CG RAS only indicates the concurrent receipt amount and not the base pay, I assumed that the base pay amount that gumbyc gave us was based on last year. I could be wrong (usually more...

JIM272, Thanks. I now understand your reasoning. I also understand why we have wives--to make us aware that we are not perfect and rarely right. Mine fulfills her responsibility admirably.

Gotta love the CG methodology. I worked in Topeka for six years and had to go down there in person twice to get my CRDP fixed. I am waiting to see if the additional increase is actually done on 1 Feb....

Now I'm confused! Maybe one of you Coasties can starighten me out. I though the Coast Guard was primarily on the coasts, so why would the Finance Center, or anything else for that matter, be in a...

ScOrp, Good question. I asked myself that same question. Just for the record though, the CG isn't only along the coast. It's broke down into Districts..Boston being the 1st CG District and the 14th...
